Later, during my studies in pedagogy, I visited spastic and cancer-stricken children at the University Clinic in Frankfurt and the elderly in a senior citizens' residential complex in Frankfurt. I also gave Reiki to Louise Hays AIDS support group in the USA for seven years. From the latter work, the topic of strengthening the immune system with spirulina developed for my doctoral thesis in nutritional science.
