He loves being “in the woods”. He is an Eagle Scout. After serving in the U.S. Army in Europe, Stuart received degrees from Old Dominion University, the University of Virginia and The George Washington University. Dr. Chaplain enjoyed thirty-five years in public education, both as a teacher and an administrator in Virginia. He is married, has three grown children and six grandchildren. Realizing the lack of books teaching real environmental survival skills to teenagers and young adults, Stuart wrote Wilderness Honor first for his family and later decided to offer it for a wider audience.view less
