Born and raised in Hobart, I grew up on Star Trek, Star Wars and loads of comics. My interest in science and speculative fiction then took off with early readings such as Fahrenheit 451, Brave New World and Timothy Zahn’s Thrawn Trilogy. Recent influences come in the form of Arthur C Clark, Daniel Keys Moran and graphic novels by Warren Ellis.
For the past sixteen years I’ve worked across the energy sector in roles based in London, Melbourne and Hobart. Throughout this time I’ve seen the impact energy can have on people’s lives and their broader communities. This experience has greatly influenced my first novel, Universal Direction.
Development on this work started in early 2013 and its consideration of how different forms of light and energy may shape our future consciousness was enhanced through the experience of exhibitions by the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA), particularly Spectra by Ryoji Ikeda and Zee by Kurt Hentschlager.
I’m currently working on the next two novels in the Universal Direction trilogy, Book 2, Reflection of a Dark Moon and Book 3, Mind of the Sun.view less
