Atkinson was born and raised in Lincoln, NE. He attended Southern Nazarene University and Colorado State University securing a Bachelor of Science degree. Later he complete his Master of Science degree at Texas A&M University. He completed coursework towards a Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS) and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MBTS). He has been active in his local church teaching adult Bible studies and preaching, as needed.view less
