Barnett was born on Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton Ohio and is the last of six children. When her father retired from the Air Force, her father moved the family back to his hometown in Cincinnati where she lived until 2002.
Interests include, reading and writing science fiction books as well as watching sci-fi movies, the solitude of gardening, discussing human evolution, jazz and electronic music. She is currently working on her second novel, a followup to the first which is due out in 2017. SY. Barnett currently lives on the East Coast with her husband Randy and her forever kitten Ms. Buzza.
