She was also the owner of the "Rosemary Home" in Li...view moreDorothea S. Kopplin (March 20, 1898 - September 14, 1970) was a teacher, author, and voted Minnesota Mother of the Year in 1949. She was also the owner of the "Rosemary Home" in Litchfield, Minnesota, as her last wish was to provide housing to nursing students and business women in memory of her daughter Rosemary, who died at the age of six from leukemia.
Diagnosed with a terminal illness, Mrs. Kopplin authored the spiritual collection Something To Live By, published in 1945, which was dedicated to her husband Edwin Kopplin and intended as a lifelong guide for her children. It became a bestseller.
Against the odds, Mrs. Kopplin lived to the age of 72. Her resting place is at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.view less
