She served for several years on the boards of Talkeetna's community council and historical society, and has been active on committees in many area land-use issues, including Talkeetna's comprehensive land plan. She and her husband, the late Don Sheldon, operated Talkeetna Air Service and raised three children in the village during the 1960s and 1970s.view less
