Her interest in writing began at an early age. This interest was aided and abetted by her family, including her maternal grandfather, Spiritualist medium Rev. Frank Pitkin, who introduced her to the typewriter in 1974. She is an historian and anthropologist by training, receiving a degree in Interdisciplinary Humanities (History, Anthropology and Spanish) from the Michigan State University Honors College. This broad-based knowledge of the human condition, past and present, colors her writing to this day.Ms. Cummings still resides in Michigan.view less
