He has surfed the shores of over 60 countries and is frequently featured in the international press. Sam is a specialist on emerging surf cultures in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean, with particular interest in a new wave of Asian surfers who advocate the ancient practices of mindfulness in Buddhism and Taoism. He has produced and presented surf travel films in Haiti, Jamaica, Barbados, China and Liberia, and is the brand ambassador of inland UK surfing project, The Wave. Sam has an MA in Geography from Cambridge University and is researching a PhD on surfing, Haiti, and new modes of travel writing. He lives above a Cornish beach in the UK with his family.view less
