His IT skills took him to Namibia fo...view moreGerhard (Ged) Dunkel graduated in mathematics from U.M.I.S.T. in 1970 and spent most of his working life in IT and lecturing in computing, statistics and maths. His IT skills took him to Namibia for 7 years and Kuwait for 5 years. He now lives in Nottingham with his wife and two dogs.
Ged has always had an interest in the physical sciences and recently, he successfully completed an OU course on the Weather, “just for fun” and it was this that triggered his interest in the Jet Stream.
His hobbies include astronomy, photography, the weather, travel, cryptic crosswords, playing bridge and current affairs (especially climate change).view less
