Living in servitude, he learned that most people were cruel and comfort could be found only in the company of animals and the seclusion of nature. In 1967, aged 18, he managed to escape Tito's Slovenia to settle in South Australia, where he studied to be a chef and eventually ran a successful catering business. His volunteer work and the sales of 'The Lacemaker's Son' support the work of the Hutt St Centre, serving the homeless and disadvantaged in the city of Adelaide.view less
