He grew up in the alleys, parks and classrooms of Park Hill, a cluster of mostly bungalows in the northeastern reaches of that city. In his early youth he was the marble champion of Leyden Street, winning countless tournaments—only to suffer the ill-effects of those games later in life with the development of severe arthritis in his right thumb.
He has been married to Linda for 42 years. They reside in Parker, Colorado.view less
