Originally born and raised in Wickford, Essex, I have a varied CV with an eclectic mix of 9 to 5 vocations ranging from the odd to the sublime; all of which provide a wealth of inspiration. As well as dabbling with illustration and mastering the art of colouring within the lines, I write a column for a local magazine and have works published in a number of anthologies.Turquoise Rebellion was my first solo project of 2014 and was originally penned for a ‘flash fiction’ competition. I didn't win and received no feedback what-so-ever. I did read the winning entry however and was left scratching my head. It was on this basis that I thought, rather than keeping my projects stored away on my laptop - I should set them free. I want you to enjoy them. Pass your own judgement. Follow me. Forget me. Have an opinion. My fascination with ‘micro’ and ‘flash’ fiction stems from the science behind the story: each piece being designed to fit on two facing pages of a typical digest-sized literary magazine. I read that In China, flash fiction is often referred to as a ‘smoking long’ because it should be read in the time it takes the reader to smoke a single cigarette. Fascinating. My proof reader is my long suffering partner whom I fondly refer to as He (who sits at the other end of the sofa). He has little interest in my writing and I bully him into reading bits. He is my worst critic but in turn, is my best critic. He finds the mistakes and together we are the perfect team.view less
