She researched at Boulder Universit...view moreJanie Jerome has lived and worked in the United States where she researched the life and times of the American wartime band leader Glenn Miller. She researched at Boulder University Colorado where his archives are kept and reported on the Glenn Miller One Hundredth Birthday Celebration Festival held in the town of Clarinda Iowa where Glenn Miller was born. She has written regularly for the British band magazine “Big Band Buddies” and “Miller Notes” the USA Glenn Miller Association Magazine with worldwide circulation. Whilst in America she self-published three books which were acknowledged personally by HRH The Prince of Wales, President and Mrs G Bush and Celine Dion. Her children’s publication “Let the Saints be Alive for Your Children” received a highly commended certification from the American Authors Association. Janie has travelled extensively in Europe particularly Italy which she has re-visited many times during her life. She appeared on the BBC Leeds broadcast of “Desert Island Discs” in January 2012. Janie Jerome is severely deaf and spends much of her time supporting “Action for Hearing Loss”.view less
