My name is Colette Smith and this is my first novel, written over the period of a year, for six months of that in Spain.
My novel is a far cry from the type of writing I have done all my life, work reports, advocacy summaries and not too long ago, essays for my Business Degree. I am one of those people who thought that ‘everyone has a book in them’ and, I suppose everyone has. What has not been so easy is the commitment, the faith in one’s own abilities and the sheer amount of time and energy required to sustain a novel. I am more than sure that many budding writers fall at the first hurdle and I am pleased I have not. Whatever the result of my submission to you, I am enthusiastic to begin my next book, and the one after that.view less
