It was right before graduating in 2003 from the University of Delaware with her English degree and a philosophy minor that Erika discovered primatology and she quickly became engrossed in the topic.
Since then, she has taken undergraduate and graduate level primatology courses and volunteered at a major primate sanctuary, as well as continually self-educated on the stories, issues, and concerns related to nonhuman primates. Through networking via her volunteerism and involvement in primatology, she has met and developed relationships with some of the leaders in primatological research and sanctuary care, and their passion for the protections of nonhuman primates matches her own. She cares very deeply about this topic, and feels that by compiling and documenting this information, she can best contribute to the future protections of nonhuman primates.
After living in many places, including San Diego and New York City, Erika and her incredibly supportive husband settled down in the northwest hills of Connecticut with their daughter and tiny dog.view less
