Gary Goldstick draws on his career as a Certified Management Consultant who specializes in formulating and implementing business and financial strategies to enhance company value. Since 1980 he has managed the turnaround, restructuring, revitalization and liquidation of approximately 300 businesses that were under-performing or in financial distress. He has been the CEO, COO or debtor’s financial advisor in companies representing a broad range of industries including those involved in manufacturing, distribution, construction, farming, mining, services and retail. He has served as a Chapter 11 trustee and a state court receiver. He is currently the Manager of three Venture Capital LLCs. That were formed in the late 1990s and capitalized for $75 million dollars.
Gary was appointed Chief Operating officer of a large integrated vegetable processor that had been in a substantial loss position. He restructured the management team, implemented disciplined financial planning and reporting, and spearheaded the expansion of a major new product line, the “baby carrot”, now a staple on supermarket shelves. As a result, the firm achieved pre-tax profits of 12% within two years, was refinanced, and ultimately purchased by an investor group.
As Chapter 11 Trustee of a windpark utility with $40 Million of assets, he directed the efforts to refurbish the wind turbines and restructure the maintenance organization to achieve a 100% improvement in revenue. The newly profitable utility was restructured pursuant to a confirmed plan of reorganization.
As financial advisor to the CEO of a diversified food distributor Gary directed the effort to extricate the company from a failed acquisition. This was accomplished through the sale of the major assets and the discharge of debt via a bankruptcy proceeding.
Prior to forming G. H. Goldstick & Co., Gary was the founding CEO of an electronics firm that engaged in the development, design and manufacture of memory systems, light pens and special purpose computers. Gary authored several published papers on the subject of electronic circuit design and analysis.
Gary holds bachelor degrees in liberal arts and mechanical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, a master’s degree in electrical engineering from UCLA and master’s degree in business administration from Pepperdine University. He is a member of the Institute of Management Consultants and the Turnaround Managers Association.
Gary is the author of Business Rx: How to Get in the Black and Stay There, published by John Wiley & Sons and Romancing the Business Loan: Getting Your Banker to Say “Yes” in the 90s, his most recent book, Saving the Karamazovs, a novel, was published in 2012. .
He has authored several articles in trade newspapers and magazines, conducted numerous seminars, appeared on national radio and television and has had frequent engagements speaking before a variety of organizations.view less
