Presently on a hiatus from construction work, Templeton has spent a majority of his adult life going from one job to another searching for his niche; something that would provide daily challenges, stability, and most importantly the freedom to live life in the manner which he believes it was intended.
It is his conviction that no man should have to perform a mere job to make a living when each and every one of us has been gifted with natural talents. For example, some people have the spirit of a healthcare provider while others have a knack for providing services such as car care, but sometimes, for one reason or another they find themselves stuck doing jobs that don’t suit their personalities in order to survive. Such has been the case in Templeton’s life, and though he’s been good enough at everything that he’s done to be presented with opportunities to advance, his desire has always been to inspire and invoke change in the lives of others.
Starting early in his childhood the ways of the world became a concern, and as a means of escaping thought into the things that troubled him he would retreat to his own little realm as he began to draw. As he grew older so did his passion for people as he began to open up and assume mentorship over those willing to listen, and his artistic talent, then including writing, wasn’t far behind. During his high school years they lead to his being questioned on the authenticity of poems and other writing assignments, secured his nomination to participate in a seminar for promising artists and earned him awards for a poster designs, one relative to drug awareness and the other for a school flag design. Furthermore, between the ages of twelve and seventeen he also created six comedy/action comic books, yet to be exhibited on a grand scale, but now as an adult he has found the perfect mix of talent and passion and poured them into his very first novel.
Though his storytelling revolves around the world of science fiction, the details of his life absent here and in his autobiography, available by request at chasin_a_dream@ymail.com, are strewn throughout the pages of his manuscript; thus, enhancing the sense of realism as he calls upon real life experiences to keep the story grounded. But in addition to his attempts at bridging the gaps between fact and fantasy, he also takes the depth of his writing a step further by presenting a different perspective of the world that we live in, and to best express those sentiments here is an excerpt from his personal profile.
‘Popular belief suggests that a fish must be attracted before it gets caught on a hook, and such is the case with any potential fan base that my works may generate. Throughout the action in book one I give brief glimpses into the message that I want to share with the world, just like the visible parts of a metallic hook flicker when it is baited. But once you have nibbled, discovered that you like what you’ve tasted and find yourself hooked, I will snatch you out of your element and hopefully leave you there questioning your old way of thinking. But unlike a fish fighting fervently to get back into the water upon being pulled out, we humans have been blessed with the gift of higher brain function. And for that reason, it is my earnest wish that those who read my work are open minded enough to fight the pull of what they’ve always known, and find the strength to embrace something different.’
With three little girls depending on him, two of which are not in the the home he shares with his wife, he hopes that this venture will prove his belief in what one can achieve with their God given talents, sheer desire and determination; therefore, providing him with the opportunity to help others and bring those that he loves closer together.view less
