Her poetry and art are quite emotional. Ms. Guinn was diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Major Depressive Disorder, and she has used her poetry and art as her own personal therapy.
All of her pain came at the hands of her step-father in the form of sexual abuse and later domestic violence from relationships she had been in. Her poetry reflects these events and the healing process as well. Ms. Guinn hit rock bottom when her children were removed from her, and is now happy to say that her son, born in 2011 is in her care and she is now healthy enough to raise him. She gained help from Womens Aid Services in Michigan and a Wonderful lady and great therapist Camille Sumpter.
Her son and herself are her inspiration now, and the great support system she has gained through the therapy and group services she has received have been a great driving force for her. This has helped her see the healing she once thought was impossible is possible. She hopes that this book will help those who believe it is impossible to heal see that it is very much possible though it is a hard road.view less
