graduating from Joplin Senior High School in 1942, he went, voluntarily
into the Army where he spent about a quarter of a century retiring in
1967.He married and had four children, now adults, with children of their
own.Upon retirement from the army he received a Legion of Merit citation and
went directly to a teaching position at Missouri Southern College in Joplin
where he taught Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science for twenty- two
years, retiring as Professor Department Head of Computer Science. His
Academic degrees were BS (USMA), MS (Perdue), Dr. Ed. (University of
Arkansas).His publications, aside from news paper columns for over a decade
after his retirement from Missouri Southern State University were Coauthor,
with fellow faculty members at West Point, of the textbook for the Senior
Course in "Armament Engineering," later published as a Field Manual for
Equipment Design by the U. S. Army Ordnance Office at Duke University. His Doctoral Dissertation was titled "The Affects of Mastery Learning on Self-concepts and Attitudes."view less
