No matter how self conscious you are, if you are writing for someone you will feel the need for more detail. When someone else reads and give you feedback, you can learn what people are paying attention to. You can anticipate where you might need to slow down in a plot and explain what was going on. The best thing you can do is find a great reader, and don't let go. Luckily readers were plenty in my home town, especially in a high school with three thousand people in it. Schenectady, NY is full of characters, and... different people. The few people I write for keep me sane, keep me writing, and are my friends. I'm constantly growing as a writer thanks to the many interesting people around me.view less
