During her long career in manufacturing, she held positions varying...view moreLeni Rodgers was born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. In her late teens, she moved to Marlborough in New Zealand. During her long career in manufacturing, she held positions varying from trade-union representative to employer. In the seventies, she performed as a vocalist with several bands. In the nineties, her career path led her into local politics, serving the community as a District Councillor and Trustee on several local Trusts. She retired early this century to devote her time wholly to her lifelong love of painting and writing. Since attending several writer-workshops and taking a course in Creative Writing at the local Institute of Technology, writing has become a near fulltime occupation. She has written numerous short stories. "Somewhere Else" is her first novel. She is married with two adult children and four grandchildren.view less
