Imitating his older brother and sister, he was sing...view moreRaymond Wentworth was born in Worcester, Mass., the son of two schoolteachers, both of whom were from old New England families. Imitating his older brother and sister, he was singing before he was talking, so it was natural for him to become, at age 10, a soprano in a professional choir. He has sung in church choirs and various choruses ever since.
As his family was a highly verbal one, he developed a life-long love affair with the English language in early childhood; as an adult, he followed a career in newspaper, magazine and book publishing—but with some interesting detours. During a 23-year marriage, he and his wife raised two fine children, and joined actively in community affairs.
During his retirement, Raymond sings, reads, writes—and enjoys recalling the richness of life.view less
