No Mourners for Victoria is his fourth mystery and, he believes, is closer to a pure whodunit than his previous three. He is currently working on a fifth mystery about the death of a guru who formerly led a cult community on the Olympic Peninsula in the state of Washington. Lackman was born in England, went through World War II there, and is also working on a series of novels about his experiences growing up in wartime Manchester. He has finished two of the series, Green Hill Faraway and Yids, Yoks and Yanks, and is now preparing them for publication in the near future. He came to the U.S. when he was nineteen and has lived here ever since, spending most of these years in California, where he now lives with his wife Joyce, who serves gallantly as his editor.view less
