Fred Gabriel Simeon Reynolds is a priest of the New Orleans Province of the Society of Jesus, and he is a lifetime member of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church, which is one of the ...view moreFred Gabriel Simeon Reynolds is a priest of the New Orleans Province of the Society of Jesus, and he is a lifetime member of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church, which is one of the Eastern churches in communion with Rome since 1724. Father Reynolds has received the bi-ritual privilege of performing the sacraments of the Western Catholic Church, as well.
He entered the Jesuits on August 14, 1971 and was ordained a priest on June 3, 1978. During this time in the Jesuits he has run retreat programs in two Jesuit schools, spent 10 years working in hospitals as a Catholic chaplain and has worked extensively with HIV/AIDS patients. In addition, Father Reynolds has given both Jesuit and recovery retreats throughout the United States. He has also performed parish work in the Melkite and Western churches, and spent time in Belize and Guatemala doing mission work. Further, he has worked with the poor in Virginia, Kentucky, Georgia, Texas, Louisiana and Central America.
