Farm life and a love for the western novel led him to develop his own taste for writing, which involves a mix of both. This first collection of short stories, flavored with the jargon of the times, contains some of his most treasured tales. From the mountains and coves that he walked and hunted during his childhood, Lonnie brings a tangible practicality of a simpler yet unforgiving time, when farming and hunting determined your survival but didn’t guarantee it. The author has woven within the fabric of his stories, memories, accounts, and events of a childhood not unlike his own; where if you were strong enough, tough enough and smart enough, you were rewarded with a good life in some of Gods’ greatest handiwork. The author currently lives in Whitwell, Tennessee, with his wife Betty. They have five children, 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.view less
