a love for The West Country.
I married and came to Africa many years ago and my children were
born here. I have been deeply moved by the warmth of the African
people. Their strength and optimism, sometimes in the bleakest
circumstances, have been an inspiration to me.
Africa is a wide and wonderful wilderness, but my heart has always
remained in the rolling moors and deep forested river valleys of Exmoor where, even
now, I feel the magic of my childhood.
After my children were grown I graduated from The University of South Africa with
a degree in ancient history and art history. These subjects along with archaeology have
always fascinated me.
The magical power of Exmoor and the raw power of ancient Rome were an irresistible
combination for me and something I wanted to share with the child in all of us.view less
