He practiced trial law thirty-eight years in Decatur, Alabama, and specialized in personal injury, domestic relations, and criminal law. In 2001, he retired to write. In addition to Thumbs Down, the second novel in the Penn Roman legal thriller series, he published Absolute Justice, the first in the series, in 2007. He is completing Conscious Disregard, the third novel in the series. It, and his memoir, When Destiny Comes to a Fork in the Road, will be published soon.
He and his wife, Barbara, live near Hartselle in North Alabama on a small horse farm.view less
