His career has spanned over thirty-five years in retailing, during which time he served as the CEO for several well-known high street names. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. In 2010 he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Arts from the University of Hertfordshire. He spends his time between Somerset, Durham, and London.
