Very informational, more prescriptive and as such I'd recommend this is something to pick up and flip through rather than read end to end. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

Proper nutrition and exercise are often prescribed to cure almost any ailment. People often dismiss this recommendation as common knowledge. In This Is Your Brain on Food, Dr. Uma Naidoo explores how nutrition affects the brain. She describes a multitude of diets, mental illnesses, and the research between them.
The book is intentionally structured for the reader to quickly find the information regarding specific mental illnesses. When read all the way through, similarities are easy to spot. This allows for Dr. Uma Naidoo to make further hypothesis on potential outcomes to changing one’s diet.
The information is so vast and helpful; I decided to order a physical copy for my personal library. There are multiple recipes. Plus, it is always good to have a reminder of why proper nutrition is important.
Warning: According to Dr. Uma Naidoo, there is little risk and a multitude of benefits when changing dietary habits. However, she strongly encourages readers to talk to a medical professional before making drastic changes. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5

I feel like there's nothing new here but it's probably a good first book for anyone completely unacquainted with the topic.
