About this audiobook
For Lucely Luna, ghosts are more than just the family business.
Shortly before Halloween, Lucely and her best friend, Syd, cast a spell that accidentally awakens malicious spirits, wreaking havoc throughout St. Augustine. Together, they must join forces with Syd's witch grandmother, Babette, and her tubby tabby, Chunk, to fight the haunting head-on and reverse the curse to save the town and Lucely's firefly spirits before it's too late.
With the family dynamics of Coco and action-packed adventure of Ghostbusters, Claribel A. Ortega delivers both a thrillingly spooky and delightfully sweet debut novel.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I loved this book. It was appropriate to be reading it in September! It's a beautifully written, creepy ghost story! Would read again!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Awesome book and audio narrator! If you like adventure, magic, and family this is for you!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Ghost Squad is the best middle-grade ghost story I can remember reading. It’s a fast read (or listen; the audiobook is excellent), full of supernatural chills lightened up by humor and strong underpinnings of friendship and family support. The Dominican cultural influences are present and powerful, really setting the book apart.
I highly recommend Ghost Squad for the 8-12 middle-grade set! It’ll likely appeal to readers who enjoyed Victoria Schwab’s Cassidy Blake series.
(And honestly, I loved it as a little break from emotionally weighty adult and young adult books. Stressed-out adults: give this a shot. The audiobook’s only five hours long and it’s adorable, plus Almarie Guerra de Wilson’s narration is stellar.) - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was so fun and cute! My seven year old spooky lover and I did the audio together and we both loved it! Chunk is my new favorite book cat. Even my toddler was interested, he was very excited about the fireflies. Perfect for the Fall spooky season!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It is very good just very long with little filler but it is still good and you should listen to it if you can
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was so fun! The narrator was really pleasant to listen to as well :)
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Such a wonderful MG but I'm disappointed in the marketing behind it, yep Scholastic I'm looking at you because this is a lovely Latinx inspired story with a Dominican MC I'm still not sure if she is Afro-Latinx or just Latinx but for kids to see this on the synopsis would make them so content. I loved the supernatural vibes and it is a perfect read for September. Plus the narrator did a fantastic job provided just the appropriate amount of eerieness to it.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I thought this was such a great book! Once I got started it was hard to put down. I love the characters and plot of the story. I love how much culture is in this book. Plus the narration for the audiobook was spot on.
