- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is the story of Jim and his first day of school. He is concerned about having a friend in his class. His fathers assures him that he will. Through out the day Jim notices other children making friends and playing together, but is too shy and nervous to approach any of them and isn't quite sure what to do. After nap time, Jim is approached by a buy named Paul who wants to show him his toy car. Jim tells him that he has a pump at home and will bring it tomorrow so they can play with them together. On his way home from school Jim is excited to tell his father that he does in fact have a friend at school. This is another good book to share with children on the first day of school to let them know that they can always find at least one person who shares the same interests and help calm their fears about finding a friend.
