This book is about the pilgrims who came over from Plymouth, England in 1620. The book goes into detail about their voyage on the Mayflower as well as their first few years here in America. It talks about their encounters with Native Americans and the struggle to start a new life here in America. The book is broken down into several subtopics in order to focus on what different groups (men, women, and children) were responsible for doing in their new home.I thought that this book was very well written and illustrated. It provides the reader with a lot of information about the pilgrims and their new life in America. The author uses detail in a way that is interesting and effective. The illustrations were very well done and provided the reader with good visuals of what may have been going on at this time in history.
