- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The sun is a children's educational book about the sun, how it works, and how it came to be. The book is written in a language easily understood by children. It also depicts the size in a way a normal person might understand.I found this book enjoyable, though i could see there being an issue when it comes to the creation of the sun because not all parents want big bang theory taught in schools.I would use this book to begin a lesson on the solar system since the sun is the center. It would also be a good read if you were taking the students on a trip to a astrolab.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This children's informational book was actually very interesting to read! Although it was a nonfiction informational book, the author did a great job at making the book fun to read. He did this by adding many large pictures instead of all words. This allowed readers to understand the material through pictures rather than text. This is especially important for young readers in order to maintain their attention throughout a book. Overall, I thought this book was very interesting to read and learn about the sun! The central message is the sun.Summary: In this book, Seymour Simon informed his readers about the sun. He included many pictures. He taught his readers what the sun looks like, where's it's located, size compared to other planets, how the sun was created, and what the sun consists of.
