About this audiobook
Widely accepted as a philosophical masterpiece, Ethics sets out to explain nothing less than the nature of God, the world, and how we should live. Rejecting some of the most deeply held presuppositions of classical and medieval thought, Spinoza makes the radical claim that God and the universe are in fact one and the same, a single substance with infinite attributes.
Ethics is famously complex, its elaborate and self-referential matrix of definitions and propositions unfolding across five sections. Published in 1677, it was largely shunned for decades, but remains strikingly original in its metaphysics and virtually unparalleled in its scope.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Explanations are very repetitive, could have been shorter. Overall, a good enough introduction to the work. I found the connections made with other philosophers of high value.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Good Intro about the philosopher and his important work! Well done Barush.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Some of the chapters are in the wrong order. Redundant text at the end and beginning of every chapter is very annoying. Spinoza should take the major blame for not giving real world examples of his thoughts. So, all that translators can do is quote him, rather than show what he meant. This like most insights into The Ethics is cloudy at best and muddy at worst. Not worth the listen.
