About this audiobook

The intergalactic adventures of Arthur Dent begin in the first volume of the 'trilogy of five', Douglas Adams' comedy sci-fi classic The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, read by Stephen Fry.

On 12 October 1979 the most remarkable book ever to come out of the great publishing corporations of Ursa Minor (and Earth) was made available to humanity - The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

It's an ordinary Thursday lunchtime for Arthur Dent until his house gets demolished. The Earth follows shortly afterwards to make way for a new hyperspace bypass and his best friend has just announced that he's an alien. At this moment, they're hurtling through space with nothing but their towels and an innocuous-looking book inscribed with the big, friendly words: DON'T PANIC.

The weekend has only just begun . . .

    Mostly harmless.

Re-read, one of many. Stephen Fry makes for a very cozy listen.

Absolutely incredible SciFi book. Stephan Fry makes it even funnoer and better with all the voices. I mainly started it knowing that the answer to the universe and everything is the same nr of my apartment and I found that very funny. I can't wait to start the next book.

I only stumbled across this book because I love Stephen Fry as a narrator. He is just perfect for this weird and wonderful sci-fi parody full of dark and light humor and impossible incongruities.

    Not my cup of tea.

For me this is a very chaotic book and i dont think the audio did it any favours quite honestly.
It could not grip my attention at any point so i dont believe i will be continueing with this series.
