- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A lovely book about the love shared between Charles and Susie Spurgeon! Theirs was a true marriage of minds, hearts, and goals, and I would love a marriage like it! They were so sweet, tender, and helpful to each other, and most of all wanted to serve God. They went through many hardships, especially of health, but looked to God for strength in everything.
It's read well, too.
One of my favorite quotes:
"...their differing backgrounds actually worked in their favor. All differences of background and circumstances could have been problematic had Charles and Susie not been diligent in communication, united in priorities, thoughtful of one another, and creative in seizing time to spend together. Their relationship was Doonsbury1enhanced by their positive attitudes." - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Very interesting and moving description of the lives of Charles and Susannah Spurgeon. Perhaps a little bit repetitive, but very encouraging. Thank you
