Alpa Shah is Associate Professor (Reader) in Anthropology at LSE. She is the author of Ground Down by Growth (Pluto, 2017) and In the Shadows of the State, Indigenous Politics, Environmentalism and Insurgency in Jharkhand, India (Duke, 2010).
