In a remote part of the South Carolina woods, a small Carolina pup plays with his brothers and sisters while their mother hunts rabbits. In one irreversible moment, his life changes forever. The story is a novel, based on the life of a real stray dog who was "adopted" by a town in North Florida. The story is told by the dog, Surf Dude. Surf Dude (now known as Buddy) has his own Facebook page ("Surf Dog/Buddy") with over 4,000 followers. Because the main character was a stray dog, the publisher donates a portion of all sales to animal rescue groups and shelters.
