About this audiobook
The Haitian Revolution has played a big role in the history of abolishing slavery. Its significant influence on the Civil War in the United States in the 1860s has probably been underestimated by many.
The English and French already had conflicts elsewhere, and the Napoleon wars greatly contributed to these disagreements. Aside from that, the nation of Haiti was still in its early stages, with plantations being populated by African slaves the settlers had captured and brought into servitude. Abuse and exploitation were common faces in many people’s lives, but the Haitian Revolution brought many changes to that.
Study the history of this island that’s so close to the United States yet has been classified as one of the poorest countries in the whole world. Become aware of Louverture’s leadership and role in the war of independence and the insurgence against colonist dictators.

Reviews for Haitian Revolution

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5This sounds more like a required report for a student than a serious book. Too many poor translations that sound like they were directly taken from Google Translate ie, "Gran blan, and ti blan". "Thousands of countless dead" is also not proper writing. After listening to "Avengers of the New World" it's like going from high school graduating alumni to first day of kindergarten.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The difference between this audio book and many other audiobooks, is really that this is much more enjoyable. I discovered a lot just by soaking everything up. The info was terrific, particularly if you already understand a little about the theme. Actually, you can understand nothing about it and still follow along effortlessly. I gained from this book. It was an eye-opener. I was intending to learn more about this concept anyway, so it was no accident that I ran into this. I listened to it, and not to my surprise, it was exactly what I was trying to find.
