About this audiobook
In Chinese mythology, there is so much symbolism, and there are so many wise lessons to discover. It’s almost criminal that Western civilization studies Greek or Roman myths but leaves all the Chinese gods and goddesses to themselves. In this guide, we’ll delve deeper into these mystical beings and the beliefs surrounding them, whether modern or ancient.
You will learn about subtopics like:
- The intriguing legend of the Monkey King and the journey through China
- Stories that involve the Chinese goddess of the moon
- The significance of dragons and lions in China
- Zodiac signs in the Orient and their meanings
- The myth about the goddess of compassion and the legend of the white snake
And there is more. With this knowledge in the back of your head, you will show greater comprehension of the signs, symbols, and traditions of the Chinese, which have been preserved and developed over centuries.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I tuned in to this audiobook, and it was absolutely inspirational. It's an intriguing concept, the whole premise of this book. You don't usually see that in many other books. And that's the reason why it can use a person like me to compose a few positive aspects of it. I do not think the word "incredible" does this book justice. There has to be a better word, and I will definitely keep looking, because it deserves something great to be said about it.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Audiobooks such as these make my day. They're terrific. 5 stars! By far the greatest thing that's happened to me today. The very best parts of this book (I forgot which chapters) implied the most to me. When I heard these things, I immediately understood I had made the best choice. This book spoke to me.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The first chapters, about traditional Chinese stories, were interesting. The author summarises some stories and discusses their place in Chinese society. There is an interesting chapter about dragons but there is an odd amount of description of tattoos which seems a bit out of place. The rest of the book sounds like it is copied from Wikipedia or other websites. The chapter on the zodiac is particularly strange as it repeats similar material but in slightly different versions.
