About this audiobook
Of all the dukes in England, Jered Marcus Benton, the Duke of Bradford, was the wealthiest, most handsome—and most arrogant. And of all London’s ladies, he wanted the tender obedience of only one—Caroline Richmond.
She was a ravishing beauty from Boston, with a mysterious past and a fiery spirit. Drawn to the powerful duke, undeterred by his presumptuous airs, Caroline was determined to win his lasting love. But Bradford would bend to no woman—until a deadly intrigue drew them enticingly close. Now, united against a common enemy, they would discover the power of the magnificent attraction that brought them together…a desire born in danger, but destined to flame into love!

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is a reread for me - but I found that later on in the book it seemed more of a quick sum up Narration... not sure why that was never thought that before.. Still I enjoyed Bradford. His chemistry with Caroline was good. Kinda wish Milford had his own story.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I agree with some of the other reviewers that the hero is definitely a bit full of himself. Overall the book was an enjoyable historical romance. Caroline was born in England but raised in America by her Aunt and Uncle. She is sent there under mysterious circumstances that are revealed at the end. When she finally returns to England and her father she causes a stir among the men and meets up with the Duke of Bradford who cannot get enough of her. The main characters don't agree on a woman's place in relationships which causes many arguments. The Duke is obsessively jealous which is also not explained until the end. I enjoyed the humor and the relationship between Caroline and the Duke's best friend (Milford). A light read and enjoyable.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5not one of my favorites; ended up skipping through the tedious fights and conflicts. hero was unecessarily paranoid.
