Amy Tan is the author of The Joy Luck Club, The Kitchen God's Wife, The Hundred Secret Senses, The Bonesetter's Daughter, The Opposite of Fate: Memories of a Writing Life, Saving Fish from Drowning, and two children's books, The Moon Lady and The Chinese Siamese Cat, which was adapted into a PBS television series. Tan was also a coproducer and coscreenwriter of the film version of The Joy Luck Club. I'm not sure why this book is so intriguing to me - as corny as this sounds, something about it speaks to me. I've read or listened to it at least three times.

What an imagination! The story was entertaining and the writing was lovely. This is a book to go back to time and again.

I enjoyed this story very much but I’m taking away one star (should have been two!) for the HORRIBLE narration by author Amy Tan. I love her writing but I will never listen to another audiobook narrated by her. Pay a professional next time and stick to your great talent of writing fiction, Amy!
