- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Omarosa dumps on everyone. She starts off the book by describing her firing by Gen. Kelly in the White House. If her description over her firing is remotely true, boy, did the White House botch it!! Omarosa takes aim at Ivanka, Jared Kushner, Steve Bannon, Mike Pence, Paula White (intimates she and Trump are having an affair), Don and Eric Trump etc.
She is somewhat sympathetic to Melania who Omarosa believes will divorce the Donald after he leaves the White House.
She has very few good things to say about the Donald. She rips his lack of intelligence, his health and how he treats people.
I'm guessing maybe half the book is accurate and if that is true, what a mess we have at 1600! - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Unhinged by Omarosa Manigault Newman 2018 Gallery 3.0 /5.0 Interesting and revealing memoir of Omarosa´s history working with the Clinton White House and working for and with tRump, on the Apprentice and then the tRump White House. When tRump´s erratic, raging behavior and corrupt and controversial attitudes incited cult-like followers, she felt it was time to leave. The ¨n¨ word was the final straw for her. This was entertaining and eye-opening, a tell-all that should be read by every citizen concerned for our future democracy.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Former advisor to Trump writes about her relationship with him the decade before he became President and then for the year she served with him. Even if half of what she reports is true, it is still pathetic. I did find the book entertaining. It is a shame it is suppose to be true. SAD.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book traces the author's long history with Donald Trump right up to when she was fired once again. She provides some wonderful stories as well as some interesting insights into life in Trump world. There are no real surprises - we know Trump is a racist and treats women poorly, including his wives. However, what was very interesting was her belief that Pence is simply marking time until he can become president, either through an election or an impeachment, and how untrustworthy he is. The author does believe that the president has declined mentally since she first met him as a contestant on his TV show The Apprentice. It was a fun read.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book should scare anyone involved in American politics. It will infuriate Trump fans and fan the flames for anti-Trumpers. I found it fascinating from a poly-sci point of view and couldn't imagine being a bureaucrat in this regime.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5When somebody writes a book after being fired from the White House, it's hard not to take it with a grain of salt. And yet, certain things have been substantiated in other books on Trump, while a few things are new. Throughout the book, Omarosa tries to justify why she turned a blind eye to "nearly fifteen years of Trump's crazy antics" that she had witnessed, and it's up to the individual reader to assess her rationalizations: driven as she was by her wish to escape the sad world she had been born into, her intense desire to experience for herself Trump's "extraordinary success, to have a life of wealth and luxury". At what cost? that's another question for the individual reader. Even though written by a person who switched between two major political parties throughout her career, Omarosa does provide some unique glimpses into Trump's campaign and White House, from within. Quite a shocking portrait of Michael Cohen... an interesting look at Melania... And - mice in White House?!... unbelievable... All in all, a long stretch of events - starting from The Apprentice, through Clinton White House, Trump's campaign and Trump White House. If she weren't fired - would she have continued to turn the blind eye to Trump's inadequacies and lies? She claims she was already planning her exit. But with her history - who knows...
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book has a several different ways to look at it. You can read it and believe that the author, who knew Trump for a long time, needed time to realise the more and more unacceptable behaviour and declining mental capacities of his former mentor and (perhaps) friend. Or you can read it as a book of an opportunist and calculating woman who, after she was fired, `shoots back`. I honestly don`t know which one is true, and it really doesn`t matter because you don`t have to decide to enjoy the book (and be frightened by it).
