About this audiobook
In Spring Fever, the New York Times bestselling author Mary Kay Andrews delivers her delicious new escapist novel about small towns, old flames, and deep secrets
Annajane Hudgens truly believes she is over her ex-husband, Mason Bayless. They've been divorced for four years, she's engaged to a new, terrific guy, and she's ready to leave the small town where she and Mason had so much history. She is so over Mason that she has absolutely no problem attending his wedding to the beautiful, intelligent, delightful Celia. But when fate intervenes and the wedding is called to a halt as the bride is literally walking down the aisle, Annajane begins to realize that maybe she's been given a second chance. Maybe everything happens for a reason. And maybe, just maybe, she wants Mason back. But there are secrets afoot in this small southern town. On the peaceful surface of Hideaway Lake, Annajane discovers that the past is never really gone. Even if there are people determined to keep Annajane from getting what she wants, happiness might be hers for the taking, and the life she once had with Mason in this sleepy lake town might be in her future.

Another awesome novel by Mary Kay Andrews. You love and hate her characters who have charm, strength, vulnerability, real jobs and real lives. I really was cheering for Annajane and Pokey, and I really just wanted to tell Celia to stop her games! There were a few surprises throughout the book and an ending that left me smiling! With all the stress in everyday life, this was a great escape! i stayed up late to finish the book. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

This was a very fun audiobook. I brought it into the house to finish as I was cleaning and my husband kept laughing at the little bits he was hearing. He finally said he thought the book was pretty funny. I really enjoy Mary Kay Andrews especially as an audiobook. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

The BEST!!! I have read all Mary Kay Andrews; books and this was awesome! Loved the setting in Passcoe, NC with Quixie Cherry Soda (which were fictitious names for (Salisbury, NC and Cheerwine). Having spent a great deal of my childhood in Salisbury, NC and LakeHideaway - brought back a lot of fun memories. Started and completed it over the weekend as you cannot put it down! A must read..
The New York Times bestselling author of Summer Rental (which I also loved set in Tybee Island, SC) delivers her delicious new escapist novel about small towns, old flames, and deep secrets

I absolutely love Mary Kay Andrews and all she writes. I know this is not her current book, I'm not behind, it is called "savoring" the releases of her books and enjoying them when the time is right. Her writing is very good, just a feel good story line, always different and I'm not always able to guess ahead. She is very talented in her research and development of her characters and the towns in which the book is set. I have 2 more of hers to read and I will save them for a while… - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Decided to try another MK Andrews book, and... while she writes entertaining books, the storyline seems so 'fluffy.' Yet, I know I've listened to other light-hearted books and did not feel this same way. There seems to be an ongoing struggle between goofy and serious in her story lines; as if one day the writer wants to be known as a 'chick-lit' author, and on other days, as a 'heart-wrenching' storyteller. Alas, I will occasionally download one of her books when nothing else is available, as they aren't THAT bad, but will need to keep my expectations 'low.'
The audio performer does a decent job with this material. Ms. McInerney maintains consistent character voices and is good at using voice inflections to keep the reader's interest. Her performance rates 3.5 stars (not reflected in story rating). - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

Annajane and Pokey became fast friends in kindergarden, an unusual pairing, as Pokey's family was one of the wealthiest families in Passcoe, NC, and Annajane's wasn't. Despite their differences, a tight bond formed and the two girls grew up together. Spending time with Pokey's family eventually led Annajane to fall in love with and marry Pokey's older brother, Mason. The marriage failed and, despite the resulting divorce, Annajane continued to work for the Bayless family business, Quixie. Then came Celia Wakefield, a pretty, petite, driven fireball. Celia joins the Quixie company as a consultant and immediately begins to create all sorts of turmoil. To find out what happens with Annajane, Pokey, Mason, Celia, the rest of the Bayless family and the Quixie company, you'll have to read Mary Kay Andrews' "Spring Fever." It has more twists and turns than a dirt road in back country North Carolina! - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5

Warm and fuzzy as a Georgia peach, sassy as Carolina Bar-B-Que, Spring Fever is a great summer read--lots of family drama, lies, some sex, and yea a little video tape (at the very end--mind out of the gutter girls!) I do believe Mary Kay Andrews may be the queen of Southern Chick lit! - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5

Not great literature, but fun enough to listen to in the car between destinations. I met the author once, and was totally charmed by her,so it's fun to pick up one of her books occasionally. Also liked the bits fo soft drink company-isms, as I once dated the son of a VP from once of our national chains. The house had the soda logo all over the place. On my first visit, there were a slew of gifts for me with the logo, too: tee shirts, tote bag, pillow, jewlery box, bracelet, earrings, socks... "What? No panties?", I quipped to my boyfriend. His mother looked agast, and his father laughed so hard he snorted his Jim Beam and Name Brand Soda out his nose. I definitely wasn't on their keeper list. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

Quixie Soft Drink company is the mother company that is owned and operated by the main characters of this light, summer read. For those familiar with CHEER WINE in the Carolinas, I believe, Quixie is similar. SPRING FEVER is about the share owners, their loves and lives. Annajane, formerly married to one of the family shareholders, but still employed by the company, finds herself a little disconcerted when her ex- decides to marry Celia, a new person aboard the family run corporation.
New laundry is hung to dry and old dirty laundry is finally aired as this story developes. The characters are believeable as southerners. They would not work in a northeast setting!
The plot and story and setting is believeable in a "happily ever after" sort of way. I didn't expect to enjoy it, but was pleasantly surprised. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5

I felt that this book was better than some of the other books that Mary Kay Andrews has written. The characters and setting are better defined. Of course, the characters and plot follow a Southern literature formula. The ending concerning the waiting for 5 years after the death of the patriarch for the estate to be settled is a little strange. The surprise is bittersweet. I enjoyed the interaction of the family and the fact that no family is perfect, and relatives can surprise us. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

Annajane Hudgens finds herself in a church pew, sitting next to her ex-sister in law and best friend, and watching her ex-husband, Mason, about to be remarried. She notices that he is looking decidedly nervous and ready to bolt and as the bride steps off, Annajane is about to jump out of the pew and stop the ceremony when Mason’s daughter, the adorable Sophie, gets taken ill. Mason and Annajane end up going to the ER with Sophie and leaving the diminutive but dastardly bride, Celia to follow later.
This episode sets the tone for the book to follow. Ms. Andrews has written a story of two people who love each other but couldn’t get the timing right from the beginning of the relationship. Mason is the heir to the Quixie soda empire and Annajane is the girl who works for the company and happens to be his sister’s friend. They come together and apart and eventually marry but it doesn’t last due to job pressures, immaturity and the possibility of cheating on Mason’s part. After the divorce, Annajane’s suspicions seem to be confirmed when Mason has a daughter after a one night stand. Now, 5 years later she is engaged and ready to leave town, her job at Quixie and Mason for good. The aborted wedding brings her to her senses and she realizes she still has feelings for Mason.
Although the plot is a tried and true romance plot, it gets a nice treatment in this book. Annajane and Mason are friends and co- workers who were able to put the past behind them until Celia arrives on the scene. The wedding becomes the pivotal moment for both exes to reevaluate what they want out of life and how they are going to get it. Mason is a nice guy who is trying to save his family business. Annajane is a strong woman who wants a family and the life she sees her best friend, Pokey, living- one with a loving husband. Annajane and Mason have to work hard and really talk about their past mistakes to put their relationship back together again. The villains of the story; Celia, Mason’s mother, and his brother Davis, all play a part in helping keep the exes apart but lose out in the long run.
I really enjoyed this book. Ms. Andrews always shows us a slice of Southern life and tradition in a quirky but loving way and this book is no exception. There are a few moments that are a little darker than she normally has in her books but they fit into the story very well. Spring Fever is another good book from an always enjoyable writer. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Excellent book! Full of fun characters with real problems and hopeful lives. Andres' villians are always deliciously evil and this book has a great villian --- we've all met someone like her. Recommended as a good summer read. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

It's predictable and a light read, but there are times when that's just the ticket.
It's the divorced couple who should still be together and wicked Other Woman plot. Toss in some Southern Charm and take it to the beach for a read. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

Always fun to read a new Andrews summer novel, complete with large, slightly dysfunctional family and gritty southern heroine. Annajane may not be the only one to think it's strange she attends her ex-husband's wedding, but the events that follow can only unfold in true southern, small town fashion. From the local soda (and employer) Quixie to the complicated romantic lives of all involved, Andrews as delivered another fun summer read. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5

Annajane is SO over her ex-husband Mason. To prove it, she's attending his wedding to the perfect Celia. But the wedding gets postponed, and maybe Annajane isn't quite as over her ex as she thought.
While not the author's best book, this is a fast, fun read. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

I was so excited to receive this galley from NetGalley. I love Mary Kay Andrews, her books are always so entertaining with great characters, and of course the setting in the south - a weakness.
Annajane had been madly in love with Mason for it seems her whole life. She stays clear of him for five years, after a short attempt at a marriage. But when she attends his wedding to Celia, a business wonder, she realizes she is definitely not over Mason, although she herself is engaged. Thankfully, Mason's young daughter Sophie starts throwing up at the altar and the wedding has to be postponed, leaving time for Annajane and Mason to reconnect and explore their feelings. Their divorce had been messy and without closure, and after five years apart, start to talk about what really happened. This book actually made me anxious - I wanted Annjane and Mason to get together so badly, and Celia was a perfect villain.
There is much history in their lives and so much hidden behind the scenes, and it all starts to slowly come undone, one twist at a time. I enjoyed every discovery, and simply loved this book!(less)
