About this audiobook
Previously published as ‘For Better For Worse’
A dramatic read from Sunday Times bestseller, Pam Weaver, filled with bigamy, scandal and friendships which bring hope in the darkness. The perfect read for fans of Katie Flynn and Maureen Lee.
July 1948. As Britain recovers from WWII, Annie Royal is looking to the future. Recently married to Henry, and with a baby on the way, she and her new husband are happily settled in the seaside town of Worthing.
But a knock at the door brings Annie’s world crashing down. On her doorstep stands Sarah and her two young children. As they talk, Sarah reveals that she is Henry’s wife – and she has been searching for him since he walked out on their family a year ago.
Struggling to believe what she’s hearing, Annie is forced to accept the truth when Henry is arrested for bigamy. Alone, with no one to support her, and with the baby due to arrive imminently, Annie must look to the most unlikely of places to find support in her darkest hour…
Pam Weaver
Adopted from birth, Pam Weaver trained as a nursery nurse working in children’s homes, premature baby units, day nurseries, and at one time she was a Hyde Park nanny. Her first novel, A Mother’s Gift (previously published as There’s Always Tomorrow) was the winner in the Day for Writers’ Novel Opening Competition and was bought by Avon. The inspiration for Pam’s novels comes from her love of people and their stories and her passion for the town of Worthing.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really did enjoy this book because it shows a lot of creativity. It also shows different types of mothers. For example, one girl did not have a mother, so instead she did something for her grandmother. This book shows great diversity, so I would read this to a class.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I like this book so much because it turned a nasty situation, one that is rarely talked about, into something great. It is touching how three women, who could of resented each other, learned to show the care and support generally found with only family members or dearest friends.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5In class children are discussing the different ways they are going to celebrate mother's day. Some have traditions, some do not, they all make a special button flower to take home to their mother.
