About this audiobook
Sooner or later, everyone eventually asks questions about end of life. What happens to me when my physical body dies? Is there an afterlife? If so, where do I go? Do my loved ones meet me? Will they usher me to the next plane of existence? In Diary of a Death Doula, psychic medium and near-death experience researcher Debra Diamond presents the story of life as a hospice "Death Doula," revealing twenty-five critical life lessons from those at the threshold of the afterlife, and those who have already crossed over, ultimately revealing a new way of understanding death.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Where do I begin ? Well she is a death doula AND she is a psychic ( that means she volunteers and she can envision people that are no longer in this realm)
I tried really really hard to like this book, but the Author's ego makes it incredibly hard to do so. What is more, is that I downloaded this book so I could hear other's perspectives on this topic.. because she is a death doula AND a psychic ( which means she isn't afraid of spending time with the dying AND she can communicate with the people that are no longer in this realm, and those that have just past away, like ,3 minutes ago, regardless of their personalities, will ALWAYS speak with an old English, proper undertone.. vocabulary)..I was sorely disappointed. If you have ever read / listened to books like this....then I assure you that there is absolutely nothing new here to find ( UNLESS your seeking when she says that she is a death doula AND a psychic ). Unless you love an author with an out of this world ego, that thinks they are very very special...not like others that do this kind of thing..she is the most special of all of them.
Allow me to elaborate:
1- If you want a great drinking game - take a shot, every single time, she feels she must remind readers that she is a Death Doula AND a psychic. ( Please don't attempt this, you will get alcohol poisoning)
2- Get a pen and paper to tally up ..every single time she feels the need to remind readers that she is a death doula AND a psychic, while giving the definition of what that means... nearly ever single time she mentions that she is a death doula AND a psychic.
3- apparently the dying ONLY speak with very esoteric, extravagant, all knowing...almost royal language and diction. Every single time. Regardless of their personalities or way of speaking when they were all alive
4- the patient stories will poorly disappoint you on a grand scale. Every single story is the same... except it's like she changes the wording of the last story and sprinkles some different adjectives in there so it looks like a different story.
5- PREDICTABLE in every sense of the word.
6- last but definitely not least....she is a death doula AND psychic, which means that she can connect to people that are no longer in this realm1 person found this helpful
