About this audiobook
After a wayward youth, David Reece, the youngest scion in a noble family, has been called one of the most scandalous rogues of the ton. What he wants to be called is trustworthy and a true gentleman. To prove he has reformed he's agreed to watch over his absent brother's estate and signet ring. All is going swimmingly until highwaymen waylay his coach and steal that precious ring . . .
Street orphan Vivian Beecham has grown up a pickpocket, and a very pretty one indeed. Now she and her brother have reluctantly graduated to highway robbery. And handsome David Reece has become their victim-until he tracks her down and makes her his prisoner. Locked in a spare bedroom, Vivian vows to hate her captor. Instead she becomes a former rogue's greatest challenge: the object of a passionate seduction. But David and Vivian are playing a dangerous game in which forbidden love is a wild card . . .

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It is a shame. It started out quite interesting and fun. The denouement was ridiculous and it took away from the whole earlier part. I started fast forwarding in the last 1 hour. It was cringeworthy. I don’t even know if I should recommend or not. I did enjoy the first 3/4 of the book so maybe give it a try. Hero is a mess of a man, duke’s brother. Heroine is highwayman. Yikes. Figuring out how to get them together took feats of ridiculousness. I wish author had figured out a more reasonable way to make it all happen in the end. I liked the hero though and the heroine was cute too.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The first half of the book helps you understand the characters backgrounds. David is a spoiled brother of a Duke. The Duke of Exeter. He drinks like a fish, gambled away most of his money, and sleeps with any woman who will "lift her skirts". He is irresponsible to say the least. So when his brother leaves the affairs of Exeter in David's hands, David decides that it is time to be more responsible.
And how does David begin? By being robbed by highwaymen, while taking a public stage coach to London.
Vivian is a thief. She's on the same stage coach as David. Her role in the robberies is to pick and ride along, and to sell whatever jewelry is stolen. So when she tries to sell Davids ring that was stolen in a town where he knows all the pawn shops, she is discovered by David.
This book starts out with David being noticibly spoiled and Viv hating David. I really liked it because she was a thief and he was the shady bad boy brother. Sort of. Not really. Lol - Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5This is really just a normal, average romance novel. There's not a lot special about it, the characters don't really stand out, and the plot isn't anything fascinating. Actually, it's more than a little bit of a stretch - sons of dukes don't realistically marry pickpockets. I much prefer historical romances in which characters actually behave in accordance with social norms - I'm not so much for girls who act like 20th century women. If I wanted that, I could buy a modern romance. And I think this girl - and the fact that she has a chance at marrying the son of a duke - is a bit anachronistic. But it's a decent read for a rainy afternoon, and I've read worse - that's about the best I can say about it.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5A weak part of the Reece family series. As much as I liked David, this story seems very improbable. I was not wild about the heroine. If it wasn't for the rest of the family I would have skipped it.
