About this audiobook
A revised and updated edition of the first book in legendary New York Times bestselling author Lisa Kleypas’s beloved historical romance series featuring the unforgettable Hathaways: a family of misfits trying to navigate their way through the hazards of the British aristocracy
Miss Amelia Hathaway, a beautiful and strong-willed spinster, has looked after her unruly younger siblings ever since the death of her parents. Romance is the last thing on her mind. But when reckless brother inherits a title, the Hathaways are flung into the unfamiliar world of the English peerage. And Amelia, who’s always refused to lean on anyone’s shoulder, finds herself turning to a sexy dark-haired stranger for help.
Cam Rohan, with his Romany heritage and mysterious past, is even more of an outsider than the Hathaways. He’s tough and streetwise with a romantic streak, the kind of man Amelia has never dared to dream of.
No matter how Amelia tries to avoid Cam, fate keeps throwing them together. But as their irresistible attraction blazes, an enemy from her past threatens everything and everyone she holds dear. As she and Cam confront the growing peril together, Amelia finally has to take the most dangerous risk of all: Loving a man, body and soul.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I loved Cam in Evie and St. Vincent’s story. I was so happy to see him return. The story had some nice twists and turns. Quirky sisters and steamy romance. I honestly liked Cam as much now as I originally did. I’m also Intrigued with his background and how him and Merripen are related. I also can’t wait to see where the stories with other siblings go.
The narrator wasn’t exactly my favorite. I much preferred the narrator from the other series.1 person found this helpful

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I enjoyed this first book of the series. While I find the Hathaway family a bit tiresome I do enjoy their openness to relationships and friendships outside of their "class". The storylines involving the Romany gypsys adds some nice depth. A good start for this series.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This is not the original ?. For me this was a reread of one of my favourite books by one my favourite narrators. But it's been censored. HONESTLY WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO ITS A WORK OF FICTION!!! strongly recommend reading the unedited version as a lot of the pacing of the story is lost
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5ugh this audiobook narrator has nothing on the one who narrated the wallflowers :( all the characters sound the same im just gonna have to reread the actual book lol
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5So confusing! I don’t want to have to work this hard to follow a zillion different storylines / soooo many back stories (!). I stayed with it until one of the Gypsy /Rom sisters gets busted stealing a bunch of stuff from a party. She then whines and pouts that the other girls don’t “like” her. Klepto’s entire fam come to her defense. ‘She can’t help her Gypsy nature’ (ummm, Lisa , isn’t that ‘profiling’?) Everyone agrees that the girls she stole from are cruel, racist, snobs. Okay - that’s it. We’ve crossed the line into Stupidville.
I’m out.
