I don't know why I feel compelled to finish this series out...there's only one more to endure. I guess it's the fact that I've hooked so many kids onto the series this year; it feels wrong to have 3 of these boys 2 books ahead and a line of them ready to get there. It shouldn't be without me, right?

Anyway, I could barely stand this one, but I'm not sure if I've had it with the writing style because it's the 6th one I've read, or if the story sucked...

I didn't get sick of Percy Jackson, though; I became increasingly interested in that story despite reading the lines, "I uncapped Riptide" approximately nine thousand times. No....maybe Haddix just gets annoying after a while. Either way, my students loved this one equally (although they all agree that Imposters was the best) so I can't really give it 1 star. I didn't throw the book, and that says SOMETHING about its worth.

Moving on to what is thankfully the last in the Shadow Children series.

The weakest in the series I think. There was no reason for Matthias to so strongly mourn someone he knew for a day or two and the thought that he and the commanding officer would bond so strongly over someone he barely knew seemed more "convenient" for the author, than logical for the readers.

This is the 6th book of the shadow children books. This book is very interesting. The population police have said that no family gets food unless at least one member works there. When Matthias's friends get hurt he has to join up.Luke and his friends also join up. Will they be able to stop the population police?????
